Wendy Postman Pat pullover pattern picked up at a secondhand bookshop in Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorks (I can’t find the pattern on here).
I’m not a great fan of intarsia but Noah really likes PP so I’m biting the bullet. I’m using scraps of yellow and pink for the smaller sections/embroidery.
12.12: looking good, despite my intarsia-ineptitude/lack of patience. I’ve knitted an inbetween size and the armholes are a bit mismatched - the sleeve tops seem rather roomy for the front/back. I’ve considered reknitting the sleeves but can’t face it: hopefully my seaming bodge won’t look too bad, hmm.
15.12: Well, the seaming bodge is just about liveable with and no doubt won’t be noticeable to anyone but me. The intarsia chart has been produced very cleverly: it really does look like Pat and Jess! I used the whole 6 balls of red; in fact, I ran out on the neck ribbing and used some of the navy to finish it off (this is folded and sewn down on the WS, so you can’t see it, though it looks almost intentional!).
Yarn: I haven’t used Drops Karisma before, but it’s a nice solid wool, with a good range of colours; I suspect it may pill a bit though. It didn’t feel rough at all to knit with, but it’s softened up significantly in some fab conditioner: really pleased with it.
17.12: difficult to photograph in very dull light, without graininess or the red looking rather orange. Still, I hope to have some better, modelled shots of Noah and PP&J this weekend!
