I try to learn something new from each knitting project.

My first-time knitting with double-pointed needles and embroidering the cats’ faces.

I used Shetland Chunky wool from my stash to make these three cats. Since the yarn is thinner than that recommended by Purl Bee, I adjusted the size of the needles accordingly. The cats are also about half the size of the Big Snowy Owl.

After the bodies were finished, I realised I actually didn’t quite like the idea of three owls and noticed that they would make great cats.

I’m a total embroidery novice (OK, I’m really bad at embroidering, too much stress for me!) so I decided to make the faces as simple as possible. And the three Grumpy Cats were born. :-)
