I try to learn something new from each knitting project.

I dyed my own yarn for the first time.

I had two skeins of Shibui’s Sock yarn left from my previous project - just a perfect amount for a simple scarf. Yet I wanted it to be somehow “unusual” and definitely not boring. I think the Triangle design is just like that.

I followed Xandy Peters’ instructions found here: http://theworkisgettingtome.blogspot.cz/2012/02/red-and-w... and used pink food colouring for dyeing. I assumed the colour would be deeper as my wool was ash-grey.

I might have left the yarn longer in the dye, I didn’t get much of the solid colour (just enough to make the tip of the scarf), the rest is more on the tie-dye side.

Nevertheless, I love the overall effect!
