My mother made this shawl back in the ‘70’s for her friend, Becky. It has been much loved, and slightly damaged, since then. Becky asked if we could fix it, so we did.
I’m not entirely happy with the thread I used, Aunt Lydia bamboo No. 10. It was the closest I could come to the color and weight but it’s just not as hefty as the original cotton. So, my stitches are smaller and wimpier than Mom’s and the repair is clearly visible, to me, at least.
But, for a first attempt at repairing a piece of torn crochet, I’m satisfied with it.
