This is project #2 with the handspun. Had to frog the first one (made a hat on too small a needle size that was too stiff).
I swatched with size 11 needles and got the gauge (ish) so kept it there. I stuck with the 88 stitch cast-on.
I cast on with long tail for the K stitches and German twisted for the P stitches. I realized that following the tubular cast on instructions from Turn a Square would make a more professional edge…but it’s a rough hewn kind of hat in the handspun so maybe a rough-hewn cast-on is A-OK.
Started with 2 repeats of rows 1-10 rather than 3 to make a slightly shorter hat and make sure I have enough yarn (have a mystery amount of this handspun - my yardage meter did not seem to work when I pulled it through). When I got to the end, I decided I had enough for all 3 repeats so frogged back and added a 3rd repeat of rows 1-10.
