Notes

Noro Kureyon, partial skein, rainbow, 100% wool.

Used this tutorial to learn crocodile stitch (one version of it, anyway), then some sc at the top when I didn’t think there was enough yarn left for more crocodile stitches.

15 rows crocodile (8 rows of 4 scales, 7 rows of 3 scales), then 11 rows sc.

This hot pad uses a lot of purples and blues, not the traditional bright red valentines. A hot pad keeping a casserole warm shows a kind of caring not touted by the hearts-and-roses holiday.
The shape of the scales made me think of chain mail, which ties in to my team’s theme as the knight Ivanhoe wears chain mail in the novel of the same name by Sir Walter Scott.
This was started in February and took about 3 hours.
Team spirit Team 1 more page’s team spirit this month involves making something purple for The Color Purple author Alice Walker’s February birthday.
