This is a high-end piece I’m hoping to sell at a craft show I’m doing. I’ll be bringing items at multiple price points. This will probably be the top of that range.
100% silk and every color a sari has ever come in, it seems, this yarn is easy to knit on huge needles. Needles that match the gauge would likely be hard as it doesn’t slide over itself very well.
In the simplest…
CO 3 stitches
k1, kfb, k to end
Continue until 50 stitches on needle.
k1, kfb, k until 2 st left on needle, kfb, k1
Continue until 80 stitches on needle
k37, k2tog, k1, place stitch marker and turn
(Star)from center, k1, k2tog, k to end
k3, purl until 4 stitches left before marker, k1, k2tog, k1
turn
Continue from (Star) until 10 stitches left on needle, bind off
With the remaining 40 stitches left on needle,
(Star, Star)k1, k2tog, k1, purl until 3 stitches left on needle, k3
knit until 4 stitches left on needle, k1, k2tog, k1
Continue from (Star, Star) until 10 stitches left on needle
bind off
weave in ends
I’m not really great at keeping track of a pattern while I’m making it up. If this doesn’t make sense, let me know. I’ll fix it.
Also, my camera isn’t shooting colors completely accurately. I’m not sure why. This is as close as I could get them to appear. Meh.
