Finally! I am marching through my WIPs and am just delighted to have finished this gorgeous shawl. Plus, it’s my very first crochet bindoff - I’m happy to have finished it (you cannot even imagine the klutz moves in the process). I feel a little more confident about the HOOK - but I’m also terrified that when I block it, the whole thing will fall apart.

… later - it’s still in ONE PIECE!

The edge is far from perfect, but I am satisfied with this, my first ever attempt at crochet.

I’ve been working away at it, in between MKALs and the like, but I see I haven’t been posting my progress. Bad me! I’m now about half way through section 2 and I’m just in love with the design and the results so far. What a delight!

Day one, I got to the bead row and decided my beads were just too overpowering for the yarn and the delicate pattern. The new beads are a variegated matte blue and tan. I don’t know the manufacturer’s call number (the place I purchased them used their own numbering system and has gone out of business), but I’m pretty sure they’re made by Matsuno and may be called Frosted Light Blue Clay or Matte Metallic Blue Denim. At any rate, I’m hopeful that the blues and tans of the beads will play up both the warm and cool tones in my quiet yarn, and add a bit of color to it at the same time. :)

And, several hours later - I am just thrilled and delighted with this project! Love the beads, love the color, and most especially, love the pattern!
