Foot circumference of intended wearer: 11”

1-5 Feb: I have been working up a pattern for several days and will get knitting today once I’ve charted it out.

7 Feb: knitting away …. halfway up the first foot.

8 Feb: Completed 8 Instep Chart repeats plus 6 more of another then began gusset stitches; sock 9.75” long at that point

11 Feb: Foot completed, knitting on up the leg: 2 of the back pattern repeats completed, and since it is a longer repeat than the front of the leg, it feels like a victory. The front patterning is 12 repeats; the back is 20. Shooting for 5 back of the leg repeats before the cuff, but we’ll see.

12 Feb: After completing 3 total leg pattern repeats, there are 68 grams left in the cake, and I still need to knit 1 more leg repeats and the cuff. 8” tall at this point.

13 Feb: Finished first sock - 68 grams; 57 grams remain on that skein.

15 Feb: Second sock toe and 4” of foot knit.

16 Feb: 9.75” of foot completed; started gusset increases.

20 Feb: Heel finished, leg started. In the home stretch!

23 Feb: Working on the cuff, and can see the light at the end. Yay!

4 March: Dropped stitches incident delays completion. All I need to do now is wrap them up for the birthday boy.
