This is a fine wool yarn in lovely green colorway. Hope to find the label and store information any day now!
The edging is a compromise between points and ruffles. I’ll never underestimate the importance of having enough blocking pins on hand again. In fact, my limited pin inventory (and patience) had a lot to do with how I designed the edging. The last two photos show the edge unblocked on one side and blocked on the other.
The watery greens and the points have convinced my grandson that this is a Swamp Alligator shawl. However, I’m more inclined to think of quiet rivers and shaded brooks in the areas around my Grandmother’s town. I think of it as “Cold Creek” or “Snake River and the Tetons.”
Though simple in construction, I learned lessons on how differing your method of increases does make a difference, especially in the blocking of the center. Ah well. It’s so delicate and lovely, I think Grandma will overlook my signature flaws.
