Notes

Once I learned to “Knit backward” the projects went relatively quickly. Youtube has tutorials on knitting backward. I have to point out this pattern does odd things to multicolor yarns. I used a yarn with long gradual colorways and ended up with abrupt stripes due to how each row is constructed.

The first photo shows the back of the work.

Solids work best and the pattern is then the star of the show, not the color. Shown is a blue wool sock yarn on small needles and a rose cotton/bamboo worsted weight on larger needles. Though the larger, heavier yarn shows the pattern best, the weight of the yarn pulls the pattern straight when worn.

Knitty.com is the website that inspired me to try this. The shawl she made was much larger. These are more like overwidth scarves.
