Notes

“Vanilla Bean” is one of those amazing color combinations that has to be tried to be appreciated.

I found the perfect pattern in Gisela Klopper’s pattern book. This is one of the few lace stitches I’ve tried that is truly reversible and looks equally lovely and “rational” on both sides. The pattern is 19 stitches wide by 11 rows deep. I modified Gisela’s pattern by omitting the cables and inserting 3 garter stitches between each pattern section. Edges are 8 garter stitches.

Vanilla Bean is Emperor Butterflies, Elliott Bay Blue Mussells, Hellebores, Spring Crocus in muddy winter gardens, seaweed in shallow tidepools, shadowy Gothic Cathedral arches…. endless inspiration :o)
