Size 1 (30”) for no ease.
I was searching high and low to purchase a cropped white cardigan to go over some new summer dresses. I couldn’t find anything, so I decided to whip one up quickly. This pattern should do the trick and the yarn is absolutely the softest yarn I have ever used!!!
Row 1 is more simply stated as follows: K to marker, sm, p across slipping all markers until the last marker, sm, k to end.
The construction note is also a bit confusing, but it is important to read it carefully, along with the stitch count requirements and the chart with the intended counts. It all works out, but should be carefully followed.
I want this as a cropped cardigan to wear with summer dresses, so I knit until 7” from the underarm. Then 2” of ribbing.
The arm seemed very fitted so I eliminated the final two decreases. Knit for 11” then 2” of ribbing at the cuff.
Pattern doesn’t specify, but for the button band, the first row of ribbing is a WS row, so it should start with a Purl and end with a Purl (since there are an odd number of stitches).
I did five rows of ribbing before and after the button hole role. I also used this button hole technique instead of following the pattern instructions (and for only one cast-off stitch since my buttons are only 1/2” in size): https://newstitchaday.com/how-to-knit-the-one-row-button-...
I also blocked my sweater before sewing on the buttons. I thought it was strange that she suggested you sew them on first.
