Contrast Toe, Heel, Ribbing
Because it really really bothers me when the order of self-striping yarn gets disturbed, as it would in the heel turn here.

Toe-Up
CO 16 using Judy’s Magic Cast-On, then do one increase at each side of instep and sole every other row (basically the reverse of the decreases in the original pattern).

Centering the Garter Panels
Instead of P2, k6, I’m doing K2 P3 K4 to last 5 sts, P3 K2. This centers the garter panels and saves my brain the horror of asymetry. It’s a 7 st repeat instead of 8, but what does that really matter?

Short Row Heel
Standard short row heel with wrap & turns. It’s my favorite heel turn, probably because it’s the first one I ever learned and it still feels like magic!

I had planned in a tubular cast off but after trying it on the first sock, it didn’t seem quite stretchy enough. Went with a sewn bind off instead.

Love these socks and this yarn. So cozy!
