Probably more like a double ten stitch, but I have only read the pattern for the original ten stitch.
I knit this on 13s to get a very loose gauge. I wanted a good summer blanket, so the loose gauge means a) it really breathes well and b) the yarn stretched far enough to cover a queen bed :D
Started with 1 ball of psychedelic, knit for like 15 ridges or so, turned one corner (instead of the double corner that you’re supposed to, to start) and knit for 9 ridges then put those stitches on a stitch holder.
Then I used another ball of psychedelic and picked up 10 stitches at my cast-on, and did the same as above.
Then I used a ball of optimistic, picked up 10 stitches from the corner I just turned, and knit it alongside the psychedelic, then did the same on the other side with the calypso!
I can draw up a diagram because this is confusing.
I’m just going to knit until I run out of yarn, hope it’s big enough! This yarn on these needles makes a very loose fabric, super huge gauge. It’ll be good as our summer blanket. Our duvet is too toasty already and it’s only April.
Apr 17: oh my lord I’m so tired of knitting this thing
Apr 18: stayed up late to finish it. It’s done now! I will put up new pictures as soon as I can take them.
Uh, I actually have no idea how much yarn was used of each ball because the blanket weighs 1560g and I have 150g of leftovers for a total of 1710g even though it was 16 balls x 100g… so idk some of those balls were clearly overweight. Probably the psychedelic ones.
Leftovers: 21.5g calypso, 28.5g optimistic, 100.5g psychedelic (not a whole ball though… several little balls from where I had to wind to make sure my colours lined up when attaching new balls or on one annoying occasion, when cutting a knot that attached red to green ugh)
