Notes

2020.01.20

I’m really bad at choosing and combining colours so I decided to follow the awesome colour scheme done by Josephinesew The main problem is that three of them were not available in the yarn store so I’ve ended up with this setup:

  • 123 Rhodesian
  • 96 Sunset
  • 606 Frost gray
  • 41 Burgundy
  • 140 Dark Earth instead of Marron Oscuro
  • 52 Paris Night instead of Blue Graphite
  • 51 Vaa instead of Garden Gate

As for the pattern, I’m going to follow Josephinesew’s for now and see how it goes.

Just a quick note to fangirl about this yarn. I love it!! I now understand why it’s so popular. Knitting with this yarn is amazing.

Something that is really important is to knit loosely the first 3 or 4 stitches of every RS row. If they are too tight the border will curl.

I noticed it when I was a few rows in. I hope I can fix the curly tip by blocking it correctly.

2020.10.17

After a few months of hibernation I decided it was time to finish this. Not that I’m going to use it much considering that we are more or less confined and not able to go outside much.

Anyway, it’s done now and I’m very pleased and proud of how it turned out. The pattern is easy enough though it needs some attention to avoid forgetting to slip a stitch or knitting a stitch too many.

The color scheme is lovely, very autumnal and not at all what I usually wear but I love it anyway.

After blocking the problem with the curl in the first rows was solved and the end result is very symmetrical smile

I don’t know if I’ll ever do another one because it is a lot of work but it was totally worth it.
