The pattern calls for Super Bulky yarn and crocheting with two strands held together. The closest I have in my stash is Álafosslopi which is Bulky. So instead of using an 8.0 mm hook I’ve gone down to 7.0 mm.

So far is going well and the basket is tight enough to be sturdy but I decided to add an extra round to the base to get a bit more width.

Well, halfway into the body I realized I was doing hdc instead of sc facepalm

I decided to continue because it’s so tiring tightly crocheting with two strands of this yarn that I didn’t want to start over.

So I’ve learned one very important thing from this project: use cotton or some yarn that slips better next time
