Using remnants and hopefully finishing them all up.
Wanted to do this in the round with no seams and using the waffle stitch for some texture and insulation.
Multiple of 3.
Round 1: Fdc 29 (which came to 19 cms). Dc across on the other side of the foundation row: 58 sts in total. Place marker in first stitch, moving it up to the first stitch on subsequent rounds.
DO NOT JOIN. DO NOT TURN through the whole of the pattern.
Round 2 (increase round): dc 1, 2dc in next st, dc 5, 2dc in next st, repeat til 3 stitches remain in the round, dc in the final 3 sts: 66 sts (24 cms)
Repeat round 2 for a broader base, making sure the final round is a multiple of 3.
Round 3: fpdc 1, dc 2, repeat to marked fpdc.
Round 4: fpdc 1, bpdc 2, repeat to marked fpdc.
Repeat Rounds 3 and 4 until work measures 40 cms or tall enough to match hot water bottle height. At the end of final round, fpdc around next fpdc, fphdc around next st, fpsc around next st, slip stitch into next st. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
With contrasting colour — I used the Carmine — fsc a cord long enough to go around and tie in a pretty knot. Weave cord through the fpdcs on the third waffle section from the top or lower if preferred.
