kfab: knit front and back to make a stitch
sm: stitch marker
st/q: stitches per quadrant

R 1: cast on 4 stitches and join the round.
R 2: kfab all four stitches (8 stitches)
R 3: knit (8 stitches)
R 4: kfab all 8 stitches (16 stitches)
R 5: add stitch markers one at the start of the round and one after every 4 stitches, thus
sm, k4, sm, k4, ms, k4, sm, k4 (16 stitches)
R 6: kfab before and after each sm (24 stitches)

continue increases on even rows and knit odd rows..
this will form mitred quadrants between each sm.
Super cool to note that this means _each even round has that many stitches per quadrant_.

R 6: 6 st/q (24 stitches)
R 8: 8 st/q (32 stitches)
R 10: 10 st/q (40 stitches)

I knitted to 26 rounds (104 stitches)

I knitted 9cm length (3½“)

Twisted rib for 8cm (3¼“ ish?)

Bound off with a size 5mm needle.
