Notes

These slippers are supposed to be knitted in 10ply, but I wanted to use the 8ply yarn I had. As a result they turned out not so bulky. I used the second size option (cast on 38 stitches).

The pattern was easy to follow. I had never done ssk decreases before but they are easy.

I had a little confusion when I went to graft and had to put the first slipper on to figure out what I was doing. I put it on backwards first, which added to my confusion.

After having finished the first one I was not very enthusiastic to complete the pair. Bobble at toe and heel, and the low bulk of the sole (and cold ankles) bothered me. I figured I’d finish them and see how they feel as a set.

Slipper 2 I managed to cast on 37 sets of 2 and had to make one near the end of the first rows to catch up. Oops :). … and then I got close to the end and my stitch count was out, and I couldn’t figure out why, so I skipped one decrease to make it fit. Grafted it up.

The moment I put it on two stitched came undone at the instep. Seems I’d dropped a k2tog or something a long way back. Cobbled that together with a crochet hook and some waste yarn.

We learn more from fixing mistakes than from following plans to the letter ;)
