I named this wear ‘karen’.
Karen has the meaning of ‘lovely’ ‘pretty’ in Japanese.
I wanted to make a knit that fits that name.
And ‘karen’ is the name of this yarn’s dyer

I will start a new project with Karen. We have been talking slowly and slowly since January of this year. I will make a pullover with her favorite stitch.

糸は使ったことのないベース糸を選びました。ウールにリネン。そこにアルパカが配合されたベースは使ったことがあったけれど、ウールとリネンだけってどんな風合いなんだろう？と。アルパカ特有のしっとりとろけそうなやわらかな質感はなく、チラチラとリネンの毛足と艶感のある、少しさっぱりした風合いです。

構想期間が長かったから、編み始めたらぐんぐんと針が進む。
久しぶりの手染め糸もとても可愛くて楽しい。
ただ、編み直しをすると、糸が毛羽立つので、編み直しなるべくしなくてよいように慎重に進める。
