cast on the 44” bust size.
i’m using a KFB increase instead of the M1.
Buttonhole: Used the reversible one-row buttonhole given in the pattern (http://www.knittingonthenet.com/learn/bh5.htm). Bound off 4 st. My buttonholes are on row 6, 26, 46 and 66; spaced about 2.5” apart. the forth buttonhole falls on the 2 row of my first lace repeat.

Eyelet Row:
instead of YO’s for eyelets, i did KFB increases.
K8, PM, K2 (KFB, K5, KFB, K6)x10, (KFB, K6)x2, (KFB, K6, KFB, K5)x9, KFB, K3, PM, K8
Garter Yoke Rows: i ended up adding an additional 8 garter rows after the eyelet row --> for a total of 11 garter rows after the eyelet row.
after looking at a lot of finished sweaters and how they fit various body types, i decided to do decreases under the arm holes to help have good fit over the bust but not be too swingy and over emphasis my middle.
hopefully it will hang more like this one:

Remove the first marker, slip the 2 remaining stitches together, remover the second marker, knit the first stitch after the marker and pass the 2 slipped stitches over. this stitch counts as the first K1 of the gull lace pattern repeat.

ok, the endless gull lace got to me and this slowed… then stopped for Christmas gift frenzy. part of my personal strategic planning for the year was to make a plan to try and finish up as many of the WIP i have floating around… especially the big ones. with that in mind, i pulled this out to have sitting in my spot for easy not quite mindless knitting. only after knitting a couple lace repeats did i realize i pulled it out for February! ahhhhh…. irony!

body done. starting on the sleeves… somehow my provisional cast on of 7 sts left me with 8 live sts. this is not the first time i’ve noticed an extra st with the provisional cast on…. i’ll have to investigate why sometime. for now, since it is consistent on both sleeves, i figure i’ll just decrease it away.

one sleeve done. 2nd sleeve in progress. progress was majorly slowed when a full glass of sticky apple juice was spilled onto the sweater in progress. it unintentionally got a bit of early blocking. i decreased a lace repeat under each arm to help the sleeves not bell so much… i’ll have to type the notes in here later.

second sleeve done! all that needs to be done is bury ends and sew on (find!) buttons…
very helpful notes:
