I’m not actually following the pattern, but I just chose a close one.

1. I’m doing magic ring with 4 sets of DCx3 (US definition), ch1
2. then when I get 18 circles for 18 days, I start at the right end and crochet the whole row along the top: DCx3, slip stitch into the gap from ch1 in the row above, DCx3, slip stitch into the ADJACENT corner -not the closest corner, because it is gappier if you do that
3. then JAYG for the other three sides from left to right.

I never figured out how to make the JAYG work once I get to the end of every row (I still need to crochet up along that right side, which means I end in the upper right corner of that final square instead of the bottom right to start a new row), so I always just slip stitch my way down to start the next row.

I used a white center square to represent the beginning of each month and those don’t count as a day; they’re separate. The white outer square is Quinn’s birthday.
