I prefer to knit pullovers in solids with cables, cables, cables, but, as the weather where I live calls for layering pieces, I could use some more cardigans. And how could I resist this colorway?! Cables would make it too busy, I think; I needed a stitch pattern that would really make the colors here work. After doing some research, I think waffle stitch is it, so… Time for something in different!

Going great so far! Although it’s kind of a pain that Malabrigo Rios doesn’t have dye-lots. I’ve been alternating in such a way that I hope it ends up looking like I meant to do it like that… Or maybe it’ll even out when I soak for blocking?

Ok, what is up with the way this pattern is written? The underarm and neck are written in two separate sections, but you’re supposed to so both simultaneously. There’s a boldface warning, sure, but it’s still too easy to overlook something. Would’ve been fine if there were a stitch pattern, but there’s not.
On another note, I may have to buy another skein or yarn. Good thing there are no dye lots, lol.

Almost done! Had to restitch the whole thing because it looked sloppy the first time. Might make some pockets for it, too.

Having to restitch a sleeve AGAIN because I did it inside out. Oh, I did end up having to buy another skein, by the way, for a total of 7. Should finish today, though! Still wanna do pockets, but I’m not sure I have enough yarn left…

Had to do restitching on the sleeves AGAIN! I really need to take stock of what I’m doing while I do stuff like that so I can catch mistakes early. But I think I’ve relearned how to ensure Kitchener stitch so the edge doesn’t show on the right side. Anyway! I did do some nice pockets! The color difference from the lack of dye lots does show, which I’m not exactly happy about, but everyone says it’s not noticable, so… It doesn’t ruin it for me.
