It’s a jeweled fish! (free patt.) My charts at left. (update Jan 10/2020: fixed mosaic section of pattern.) Love the colours of leftover Madeline Tosh DK in this. So gorgeous! With sparkling button eyes! Fabulous new hat for ferry riding!

Pattern changes:
CO 100 sts. in DK. on 4 mm and 4.5 mm as using both DK and worsted together at times.
Magic loop works well.
DK version. Made new tail! Great fishiness factor!

Moved BOR to center of underbelly instead of along side.

Instead of decreasing 10% at various intervals, (5 inch, 7.5 inch, 9 inch etc.) as in original, I decreased on either side of a central, 28 stitch belly section. All shaping was done by eye as you go. Very fun. Can’t get it wrong; it’s a fish.

Just prior to tail, I decreased in the round (K5, k2tog etc.) until I reached the required 22 stitches over the final last inch or two of body narrowing.

For bind offs, I used Estonian stretchy BO:
Knit 2 sts onto right needle. Instead of binding off one over the other:
//Insert left needle into front of both together, and, (like SSK,) knit 2 together through back loops.
Knit one more stitch and repeat from //.
Enjoy!

Decreased just like a sleeve.
