I started by trying out the Banff Wristwarmers pattern because it is one of my favourites, but it’s designed for DK not this rather thick aran, and changing the pattern to fit a thicker yarn didn’t work well because of large gaps in the lace. (For all my DK wools, Banff is my go-to pattern.) You can see the Banff mitt pattern on the right mitt in the first picture.

So I’ve gone back to my own pattern for chunky mitts and finding it works quite well for me with this weight of wool.

I used the smaller hook for the ribbing - and also for the picots because it was my pointier hook, and that really makes it easier to go into the back loop and back bump together.
