nov 4th, 2011: finally added a zipper! yay! done! final thoughts: only used 2 skeins, cascade eco wool is very wooly, not super soft, good as an outer layer with long sleeves underneath. the sweater is still a bit too big even with going down a needle size and knitting smallest size (in reality i’m definitely not a size small).
june 14th, 2010: finished collar, and all knitting, just needs to be sewn together and zipper needs to be added.
june 3rd, 2010: almost all the way up the two front pieces. ended up staying with 2 x 49 stitches and the center panel instead of two purl stitches in the middle of the cable panel original, i did the following:
right front: cable pattern, two purl stitches, one knit stitch, one knit rs, slipped purl ws for a chain edge.
left front: one knit rs, slipped purl ws for a chain edge, one knit stitch, two purl stitches, cable pattern.
it makes the cable pattern next to the zipper pop a bit more than only one purl stitch then knit stitches.
may 10th, 2010: started front pieces (yes making this into a cardigan like everyone and their brother). cast on 2 x 49 stitches since i am making the smallest size + 2 x 3 stitches for the front zipper plackets.
may 8th, 2010: finished second sleeve, weighed remained yarn of skein 2, will have enough to knit the front with a few grams to spare for finishing.
may 6th, 2010: almost done with the second sleeve. looks like i will only need two of the mega skeins to finish the sweater, we shall see.
march 17th, 2010: finished the first sleeve, knit it in the round instead of flat like the directions, until the part where i needed to do the shoulder shaping, then knit back and forth. almost done with one 250g skein of the cascade eco wool, so the sweater looks like it may only take 2 skeins, not three.
finished back, went down needle size and down to the smallest size.
huge thank you to ms. yarnivore for sourcing the pattern for me! w0000!
