I’m so,so sad to have cosen the wrong yarn and getting mixed up with the beginning.
Now seeing all this beautiful finished shawls I would like to start new.
But first finishing the pullover for my husband.
Not really frogged, but knitted the last stripe a few rows further to create a border and finished to make a cushion cover.
My yarn and colour choice was definitely not the best for this project.
The Kiwi Yarn shows off every pattern perfectly, so every fault as well. And as I don’t knit even enough and had some problems with the technique the result is not pleasing me at all and I would never wear it proudly as a shawl.

Habe noch einen breiteren Streifen in Rot gearbeitet und werde eine Kissenhülle davon machen.
10.10. Werde das Quadrat fertig machen und erst einmal schauen wie der weitere Teil aussieht.
Und dann entscheiden, ob es eine Kissenhülle wird oder das Westknits Tuch

Started to choose the yarn.
It took me a while to deside on the yarn and colours.
It’s a bit sad but Zealanayarns does not have enough colour choiches for this Project in the way, that you get a nice gradient. Only with the reds and blues/greys and I didn’t want this.
My first choice were creme, natural and greens out of the Rimu Range to match my winter boots. But after a few days I decided against it, as I just knit a jumper with the yarn and I know how warm it is wearing. And to imagine a huge shawl with it; no, not mine.
So I had a look at the other fingering weight yarn: Kiwi.
It’s much smoother and less warm and the gauge worked as well.

Oh what a bummer,
Yesterday I started all excited and got spoiled this morning by the strange views of some other knitters.
I came across the discussion on Instagram and had a look here. It seems to me, there is not that many who see the nazi cross. I don’t see it out of my own. If I have a certain look in special cases where you have a less gradient colour combination, well and if you twist die lines o.k. you can see a simularity.
It’s my first Stephen West Design and Kal so I’m very challenged to do it.
And I don’t have the knowledge to just go ahead and change the design. I do like some of the other colour changes which are offered but as I don’t have the overview about what I’m doing I don’t see a chance to change the design. and with my colour choice I think I’m fine that the possible simularity does not show off .
I go on with the original design and like it so far I got.

O.K. I managed to do a different stripe variation and it does not come out well.
At this point (I have exactly a half square) I think I will quit after finishing it. I don’t like the look, I don’t have the right measurement (much smaller) because I knit too tight. And with this it doesn’t look like a good piece for a nice draping shawl.
On top of that my back looks terrible and even the front is not nice as I use a sleek yarn which shows off every stitch and my knitting isn’t even enoug in this case, due to all the colour changes and joins.
I already think of using it as a cushion cover for my dog…

Eigentlich liebe ich das Kiwi Fingering Garn, aber nicht bei diesem Projekt.
Es spielt bestimmt eine Rolle, dass mir Kraus -Rechts sowieso nicht gefällt, die Struktur ist mir zu langweilig unruhig. Da ich auch nicht 100% gleichmäßig stricke finde ich das Maschenbild total unordentlich.
Das Garn bringt Muster perfekt zur Geltung. Also auch jede Unregelmäßigkeit und bei diesem Muster die Ansätze, Zu- und Abnahmen.

It’s so,so sad that I picked the wrong yarn for this project.
I do love the parts after the middle section so much.
Maybe I’ll give it an other go with my Kauri or Rimu fingering yarns.
I’m definitly not over with it yet.
