Notes

Started this project at a fun class with Anne Weaver at Country Needleworks in Jenison. This cowl is a sampler of several different slip stitch patterns.

I used a modestly bulky merino/alpaca yarn along with a worsted weight Pygora yarn. While it added some interesting texture, it did diminish the “contrast pop” of the two colors in the “windows” section.

In the “meanders” pattern section I made a mistake, and although I like the pattern as written, I decided to not rip and redo as it doesn’t look awful.

Ran low on the black “Cuzco” yarn and was gifting this to someone who preferred a shorter cowl. It tends to fold over to the “wrong” side at the top edge, so I finished the top edge with a two color brioche rib which is really soft and stretchy, and looks neat when flipped to the wrong side.
