Stocking recipe:

Knit as for the Falling Snow Stocking for the Latvian braid and snowflakes. Then devise a chart that is 32 stitches by 42 rounds, starting and ending with a round in MC (design repeats on backside; stocking is 64 stitches around total). I use Stitch Fiddle to make my charts; you can put in your dimensions there. Knit one round of contrast color. Next round: K3 in MC, K1 in CC, repeat around. Knit 2 rounds in MC. Knit short row heel in CC. (I broke the yarn and worked the heel over 16 front and 16 back stitches so the heel would be in the right place to show the full colorwork design when hung.) Knit 2 rounds of MC. Next round: K1 MC,K1 CC, K3 MC, repeat around, ending with K2 MC. Knit 1 round in CC. Devise a chart that is 32 stitches by 23 rounds, starting and ending with a round in MC. Knit 1 round in CC. Next round: K3 in MC, K1 in CC, repeat around. Knit toe as in Falling Snow Stocking, adding additional colorwork if desired (I added more CC because I was running out of my MC.)
