making fingerless mitts to go with the hat.

18 aug: abandoned first one half-done, because i wished i’d made the cuff longer, and didn’t like how the cuff met the hand. cast on afresh (36 sts) and worked 30 rows of ribbing on the smaller needles. happy so far!

19 aug: switch to larger needles, work in pattern across chart set up on back of hand, knit across palm. m1 each end of palm section on rows 2, 4, 6, 8. start brambles chart on my row 7, chart row 11. chart row 19, start thumb shaping: k1, m1, k4, m1, k to end of palm.

i need to write this up properly so i know what to do for the second mitt!

20 aug: one done, one to go! hope they match.
