5 march - have passed the armscye, woohoo! right now the scales are tipping towards “yes i have enough yarn to finish this” but a am very aware that i will likely be proven wrong. should be able to get more though, right? right??
10 march - at the ribbing for the bodice. was hoping to have 2 untouched cakes left for the sleeves, but nope. still wondering if i have enough! i think what i’ll do is use the last remaining untouched cake for the neck and button bands, weigh the two partial cakes to see which weighs less (hoping they are very similar in size), and start a sleeve with that one.
12 march - finally ready to bind off the ribbing! boy ribbing is dull.
15 march - couldn’t find my little scale, so started the first sleeve with the smaller ball and ran out very short! i will be quite surprised if i get through this without needing more of the gloss. sigh.
20 march - finishing this today! i ran out of yarn 4 rows into the ribbing on the first sleeve, so i started the ribbing earlier on the second sleeve to see how it looked. looked long enough to me! so i ripped back the first sleeve to the same point, and am half done the ribbing. think i will need different buttons, as i bought dull silver ones initially, but now i’m thinking plain black will be better. so i may not get the buttons on right away, but i should get it onto the blocking board today.
… later the same day …
done, with literally 6” or yarn to spare! whee! it weighs exactly 200g. blocking now. and, i found black buttons - but only 6. i think i have more of the same, if i can find my button box. crossed fingers.
