I knit this early in my knitting career using unstretchy acrylic yarn. I kept getting lost in the lace patterning and decided I was Bad At Lace.

I just got back from Interweave Knitting Lab where I took 18 hours of lace classes. I refuse to be Bad At Lace, dammit. So I’m knitting it again using nice yarn.

I made a mistake in each of the first four lace rows, and realized I was having trouble reading the chart as printed in Knitty. I redid the chart using a better knitting font and blanks for knits instead of straight vertical lines. (See photo.) I think that’s going to help.

Update: It helped.
