This project underwent several incarnations. First I followed the pattern as written, except for changing the cables. (I used cables from Elsebeth Lavold’s Viking Knitting instead of the bobble cables.) The collar was too big, I didn’t like the garter stitch between the reverse stockinette sections, and I wanted the back cables closer together. The next try went much better, eliminating the garter stitch and placing the cables closer. I just need to sew on the buttons, weave in ends, and block for this project to be wearable.

So now, six years later, I’m wearing this sweater today (1-23-2013). And reminded of how this yarn was not the greatest choice for this project - too drapey. Knit and learn.
