I am using leftover fingering and sock weight yarn for this gnome for the Kal and the year of gnomes kal.
I don’t have a tag for the white but it is from Jo Ann’s and softer than the other two. I am pretty sure it is a sock yarn, machine washable and I used it for a baby’s blanket.

I chose the medium fingering size, so it should match most of the other gnomes at school.
I started with the garter stitch hat, no need to stripe it ,as a the yarn is already striped.

9/11/22 I finished clue two, knitting the garter striped body in a single color. The yarn used for the body has cotton and it is a bit stiffer, so it will hold up. I used 2.25 mm needles to keep the fabric tight, as usual , I didn’t put plastic pellets inside so I don’t get in trouble at school if the kids decide to eat him!
9/17/22 finished clue 3. I put the third color in the middle of the beard for fun but this caused a bit of imbalance in the way the final result is. I think it is okay anyways and I just pinned it in place after blocking ,waiting for the final clue.
September 24th 2922: finishing touches. I knitted the round, plump nose and the rounder, plumper hands . I made two braids as we have mostly male looking gnomes at school. I attached a tassel to the top of the hat. Cute and ready to come to school on Monday to add to the collection! The kids love them!
