I am test knitting this beautiful A line shaped skirt for Ona. I am not using the recommended yarn, Spin Cycle but stash yarn. Navia Duo is a good substitute, according to Yarn Sub.
I am knitting the eight panels, length 3 size that would give me a circumference of 34.64 inches around the waist.
I started knitting on Friday night but frogged it and restarted it on Saturday. It was a three-day weekend, and I had a massive cold, so I knitted a panel a day. It won’t go on like day as we start school again!
I made a noticeable mistake with shape c in the first panel and it is a little skinnier than the others. I can live with it as I didn’t catch it early, in fact so a caught it first!
Pattern is very detailed and well written. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of pages , then I measured myself and decided what length to knit. I can now focus only on a small number of pages. As I knit it, numbers and markers are becoming more familiar and I don’t need to use the little squares in the pattern (useful tool anyways, but I am counting straight on the needle.
My gauge is off , of course and I don’t think I will need to knit all the eight panels I was planning, which is good for me, but not in terms on my test knitting.
If one knitted a Torkle before, this is a very similar construction, just repeated many times.
