Notes

My hat only used one ball of yarn. The instructions are a little confusing in the way they are worded. I did the following:

  1. Tier 1 (7 sts)
  2. Tier 2 (7 sts)
  3. Tier 1 (7 sts)
  4. Tier 2 (7 sts)
  5. Tier 1 (7 sts)
  6. Tier 2: Decrease to 6 stitches on each Row 2 by purling two together, then complete each section as usual.
  7. Tier 1: (6 sts)
  8. Final Tier: Using the final instructions works perfectly. You never actually decrease to 5 stitches and do any regular tiers, even though the instructions imply that you do. The only 5 stitch tier is this final one, which forms the triangles that fill in the top edge of the hat.

Sew up side seam, and draw closed the top of the hat.
