Good news? It only took a few hours to nearly finish. Bad news? (brace yourself) The powers that be at the yarn store have decided that it’s just too loose of a fabric to put on display, and I need to re-knit it on smaller needles. Sigh. At least it wasn’t my oopsie (I was getting gauge!), and I’m glad I like knitting!

New plan of attack: knit on smaller needles, get a tighter gauge and put on display!

9/20: okie dokie… it’s all done! With hearts embroidered. It’s very cute!

I made the smallest size, and although I think it’s very cute for a baby, I would hesitate to make this pattern in the larger sizes (the pattern goes up to 8 years old). The seed stitch bodice begins above the armholes… which is fine on a baby, but I’m not sure would be appreciated by older children. Also, as you can tell by my notes above, 4sts/in on a worsted weight yarn is a really loose gauge, so if you were to work to gauge, you need to wear a shirt/pants underneath.
