i change things, i can’t help it, it’s what i do!
2aat, toe up, knee high. these are a few of my favorite things (;
& i worked soooo hard to get the color runs to match up, too… so close. so. close.
didn’t flip the chart. but for the first little bit, i let the lateral-central motif lap towards the bottom of the foot. this wasn’t much of an issue since i was incorporating the mini gusset & heel flap + short row heel that i love from wendy d. johnson’s norwegian rose socks (& have used a number of times now) and then, instead of going back down to my pre-mini-gusset stitch count, i reduced only enough to get me to a place where i could complete the heel & have two chart repeats around.
slightly baggy on the ankle, quite well fitted at the place i’d normally start increasing for the calf, and instead of doing that i waited a few more rounds then increased needle size once for a bit then back down… it’s unfortunate this part had to coincide with the color run of least contrast, i feel the vibe it gives off is slightly sloppy.
speaking of which, that double increase - trickyyy! i think i did it different every time, never quite satisfied with how it looked /:
oh & ps - pro tip: if you’re going to have to drop down 24 rows of colorwork to fix an error, it helps when there isn’t shaping involved!!
