made this for a 3year-old. CO 26sts, worked garter panel with increases for 6 rows, then did panels as I felt like it (increasing according to pattern until it looked like a good size), started decreasing but instead of binding off all sts decided to make a hole by binding off only 26sts in the middle (leaving 5 on each side) and casting them back on on the next row. The front part is just stockinette stitch interupted by garter stitch rows to line up with the garter stitch rows on the back. Notice that the front is much shorter than the back… this is so my kid will just let this hang off her shoulders instead of fidgeting with it.
This was worn all summer long over sleaveless dresses.
