Notes

I play in the Society for Creative Anachronism. And these stockings really are an anachronism. Knit wool stockings are found in the 16th century, but I’m quite sure that they didn’t have crowns on top.

But, when I saw the Princess Buttercup socks I just knew that I had to have them. Usign the large size they have six points, just like barons’ and baronesses’ crowns, and I guess that I just got inspired.

Originally I thought about making the sock as it was, but I would have more use of knee high stockigns so I just used the crown from the pattern and free-formed the rest.

I made a wider “brim” on the crown to create space for garters.
