A ponytail is causing the strange bump on top of the hat.

I went down to an I hook and started with a chain of 80 stitches for the cuff. I measured the cuff out to 5” and then changed over to the unforgettable yarn.

I backed and front posted for 3”, then started the row with the decreases. If I remember right I had 18 outer ribs on each side of the joined outer ribs (the first two decreases). To find the ribs to join and do the first decreases fold hat in half holding first decrease. On the opposite end grab two outer ribs. This is where you should join the ribs for the second decrease. Count to make sure you have equal outer ribs on each side of joined ribs.

When adjusting hat size for different yarn weights you always want to be able to start a chain so the stitches are divided by 8. For example: 56, 64, 72, 80, 88 can all be divided by 8 and come out with an even number.
