I had already knit a symmetrical Lonely Tree shawl using the Kevät-shawl pattern charts to knit the shawl instead.

For this shawl, I continued to use a sl 2 knitwise, k1, psso from the Kevät-shawl instead of the decrease in the Elder Tree shawl pattern because I like the symmetrical triple decrease better.

I also used pencilfish’s modification of doing a yarn over on the previous wrong side row instead of doing a M1. I agree with her that a M1 seemed to distort nearby stitches. I’m a lot happier with how much nicer the yarn over looks as compared to the M1! Give it a try!

I’ve knit 10 repeats here and the wing span is 156 cm by 68 cm.

I love how this looks knit up on 5.5 mm needles rather than the 5.0 mm I used on my first Lonely Tree shawl.
