I love this design - a wreath of leaves border cradling a field of daisy stitching. So beautiful!
It’s probably one of the most complicated patterns I’ve knitted - and it certainly didn’t help that I was working with the ebook (I wish I owned the print copy!), which involved a lot of scrolling up and down though the book to look up the different stitches, as the explanations aren’t all in one section. (and maybe there’s a way of bookmarking an ebook, but I didn’t find it).
The lace patterns are both written and charted (there are 8 charts for this design!), and although I normally favor charts, I had to work with the written instructions this time because I couldn’t seem to memorize all the different stitch symbols (again, looking up the explanations each time involves lots of scrolling through the book), and some of the rows have long stretches of one type of stitch which I had to count up (adding up symbols on a screen - ugh!) - so in the end, I just opted for the written instructions which did make the lace patterns less intuitive for me.
The body is very straightforward knitting, though I wouldn’t advise knitting it while catching up on the Olympics!
The yarn is fluffy, warm and very tough (try to break the thread without scissors, oh my!). I didn’t probably choose the best of colors, which leads to one conclusion: I’ll definitely make this pattern again!
