Notes

Plan to use this pattern with modifications from Football Mosaic Scarf (Verdigris Knits by Sarah Burton) and Fretted Mosaic (Barbara Walker). Don’t know how to add the scarf pattern or the fact that the white yarn will be Deborah Norville’s Serenity Chunky.

11-6-12 thoughts and notes.
Gauge in SS was 3.5spi and 5 rpi with Bernat.

Made a big mistake in the beginning in trying to follow the exact pattern as one of my garter edges is too wide and curls. Still not sure as to why all the increasing and decreasing on the pattern but I did none of it. I just used the idea of where to place the patterns and grateful for it.

Past the halfway point I learned that you can mix garter and stocking stitch in a mosiac pattern. Wish I had done the black in the football pattern in a garter as it sinks into the fatter Deborah Norville yarn. (I needed to use a thicker yarn to get gauge).

Able to reverse the Greek Keys at the end by running the chart through my photo program as a mirror image. (Fretted Mosiac pattern from Barbara Walker’s 2nd treasury of patterns (pg 67).

Picked up garter edging using the formula of picking up 2 rows and skipping the third. Struggled with this because I had already woven ends in at the edge. Note to self: next time, do not weave in ends until after edge is on. This 2-3 ratio is a tad tight. Feel knit 3 rows and skip one would have been better, but this is ok.

Now, to pick out all the dog hair and it’ll be ready for gifting for Christmas 2012.
