I knit this on the Magic Loop. I love the style but am concerned that this yarn is heavy and itchy. The skirt will need a lining or a slip worn in addition to leggings. going to wear this to the knit shop and get some honest feedback from my knitting circle gals.

It’s one year since I started and completed this skirt. The 3 attempts I made at lining the skirt all failed because I stitched the lining into the top ribbing of the skirt. without an elastic there was no movement of the material so I couldn’t get into it. Without a lining the skirt stretched out and fell off my hips. I would have to always wear a belt and the garment wouldn’t stay in place under the belt. AND, I didn’t like the wide shape at the bottom of the skirt.

So, the skirt became a felted pocketbook which I LIKE. It is different to say the least. There are NOT a lot of felted pink cotton candy pocketbooks out there!

I ran it through the top loading washing machine at least 8 times with a few cycles in the dryer. The strap is an I cord with 5-6 stitches. I embellished the front with a translucent sea-themed necklace from my daughter’s stash which I hand stitched with pink thread. In honor of the proximity to Valentine’s Day, I shaped it into a heart.

Voila, The skirt has been happily transformed to lift and carry goodies. I didn’t line it either!
