I made the first version of this pattern on US6 needles. I didn’t read the pattern all the way through, and I missed that you need to switch to US7 needles after the brim.

On this weekend, I drove my mom to the LYS to pick up some supplies for her, and I decided to get US7 circulars and US7 DPNS.

The second version of this hat came out so much better than the first. The .5mm difference between a US6 and a US7 needle makes a difference in the overall project. Windschief V2 fits a little looser, the hat itself is a little longer. The .5mm difference allowed the hat to fit loosely on my head and it reached below my ears without me continually tugging on it.
