Since recipient wanted a snug fitting hat, I looked through my leftover bits of yarn and found the Microspun. Neither it or the Reflective yarn is stretchy, so chose to make the inner brim in ribbing, so needed also to reduce the needle size. Tried the Microspun doubled at first, but that made the brim too stiff.

With the smaller yarn inside, folded the hem a couple of rows earlier than the pattern stated. Made a very stretchy, squishy brim, which is what I was looking for. Didn’t want it really slouchy, so started the decreases at 6.5 inches rather than 7 inches.
