Bella's Beanie, take 2
Yes, I even swatch for little dog hats.
It's basically a few rounds of stockinette after the 1x1 ribbing, and then back and forth decreasing on one half, and picking up a smaller bit opposite that, and decreasing much more slowly, then kitchener stitching them at the top. The other stitches are bound off in the process. I made this up.
Back side. This band goes up the space between the ears. It looks like a pair of panties.
The pom pom was so big, the hat kept sliding off her head. I later clipped it off and made another, smaller, but still kinda big one.
Ear holes! She has some big ears.
I picked up inside the rim, about 8 stitches, a little back from center, knit back and forth with decreases, and then switched into an i-cord for a bit. They're too long. Bella's not that big. It's amazing how fast i-cord knits up.
