Notes

When visiting mom over the holidays, I noticed she had a hutch on the landing of the stairs with a farm animals theme, and several of the stuffed animals on it were fiber animals! I’m getting into spinning, and learning a lot about fibers and fiber farms. I decided they all needed Santa hats, so, when I hit up her local Joann Etc. (much bigger than a regular Joann, so much more yarn, maybe 10 aisles + the back wall), I picked up Caron Simply soft in the right colors. I did it in secret, so she’d see it while randomly walking past, but she had no reason to go upstairs ever. However, when her relatives arrived, and 2 were staying upstairs, and she was giving them a house tour, she spotted it, and they all loved it :) Success!

I did 1x1 rib for the white rim, stockinette everything else, and I made little pom poms by simply coiling up a little circle, and tying yarn around the middle of it, and then slitting the loops on each side. I did not do the trick of going down a size needle for the rim.
